Energy and Utility Services

Our Energy Management team oversees all University utility plants and is responsible for the maintenance of distribution systems at the University. Telecommunication and internet services is managed by Information Technology. For issues related to either telecommunications or interest service please contact IT at either itsupportcenter@miami.edu or via phone at 305-284-6565.

As a department we ensure proper function and maintenance of electrical systems, chilled water plants, pump facilities and mechanisms that are required to transport these services. 

All outages, major electrical, or utility issues should be reported to Facilities Work Control at 305-285-8282 ASAP

Scheduled Outages

The Facilities Department coordinates all utility outages of University buildings, including those being services by outside vendors or utility companies. As part of this process Facilities sends notification in advance of every shutdown to the designated liaisons for your building or department to disseminate accordingly. Air Conditioning

Maintenance and repair of air condition systems are part of Facilities Management's responsibilities. In keeping with our service standards and commitment to sustainability a University set point of 72 degrees has been establish for temperature.
